Govt Girls Degree College has been trying to strengthen this foundation since long. Our students are achieving academic goals and serving the society. Apparently, we are preparing our students for university but actually, we try to prepare students to survive in the universe.

Dear students, Education not only gives us knowledge but teaches all the lessons of life. It teaches us to serve the humanity and survive in the world. you get education for employment and a secure identity in the world. Education gives other benefits too. It not only highlights your talents, it provokes you towards innovation and discoveries too. You also get a meaningful outlook in the life through education.

This college mainly focuses female education in Baltistan to make them more able. The new generation not only studying existing knowledge but also aware of their cultural heritage. All this awareness brings a positive change in their behavior and satisfaction to the faculty and management.

Govt. Girls Degree College Skardu Baltistan

Welcome to Government Girls Degree College Skardu

Government Girls Degree College Skardu was established in 1989 with limited resources, initially with the support of the Boys Degree College Skardu. At its inception, only six students were enrolled, and a government residence was used as the college building.

At that time, there was an acute shortage of educated women in the region. Only three faculty members were available, who were also serving in schools. In 1996, the college was shifted to another government building, and the current building was constructed in 2004 on an area of 30 kanals.

The institution offers education in \Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, General Science, Computer Science, and Humanities at the intermediate level. It also offers BS programs in Botany and Computer Science, as well as ADP programs in Psychology and Political Science.

This is the only government college for women in the Baltistan region that provides education at the graduation level. The college is now affiliated with the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE).
